Cambridge ESOL exams are the world’s leading range of certificates for learners of English and are respected for their quality, fairness and positive educational impact. The certificates are recognised by universities, employers and official bodies throughout the world. You can sit the following exams at Elite: TKT available from April 2005. The Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT) is a test for teachers designed and produced by Cambridge ESOL.TKT tests knowledge about the teaching of English to speakers of other languages. It offers candidates a step in their professional development as teachers and may enable them to access higher-level teaching qualifications. TKT fits into the framework of teaching awards offered by Cambridge ESOL KET is the first level of Cambridge exams in English for Speakers of Other languages (ESOL). It is an elementary level exam, set at Level A2 of the Council of Europe’s Common European Framework for modern languages. KET recognises the ability to cope with everyday written and spoken communication at a basic level. More details PET is the second level of the Cambridge exams. It is an intermediate exam, set at Level B1 of the Council of Europe’s Common European Framework for modern languages. PET recognises the ability to cope with everyday written and spoken communications. More details FCE is the third level of the Cambridge exams. It is an upper intermediate level exam, set at Level B2 of the Council of Europe’s Common European Framework for modern languages. FCE recognises the ability to deal confidently with a range of written and spoken communications. This exam is recognised by universities and employers in many countries. More details The Cambridge Young Learners English Tests reward children’s efforts to learn English. They are an ideal introduction to public examinations for children aged between 7 and 12, and encourage them to develop a positive attitude to language learning. The test are available at three levels: The highest of these levels – Flyers – is at level A2 of the Common European Framework. Approximately equivalent to the Cambridge Key English Test (KET). Starters and Movers are at level A1` of the Framework. CAE is the fourth level of the Cambridge exams. It is an advanced exam, set at Level C1 of the Council of Europe’s Common European Framework for modern languages. CAE recognises the ability to communicate with confidence in English and deal with most aspects of everyday life in social and professional situations, and higher education. This exam is recognised by universities and employers throughout the world. More details CPE is the highest level of the Cambridge exams. It is a very advanced level exam, set at Level C2 of the Council of Europe’s European Framework for modern languages. CPE is for learners who have achieved a high level of language skills and are able to function effectively in almost any English-speaking context. This level is similar to that of an educated native speaker. The exam also requires an appropriate level of educational and personal maturity. More details The Certificate in English Language Skills (CELS) are a set of modular tests. They allow you to take tests in one or more of the four language skills, and to combine tests at different levels. More details BEC is available at three levels. BEC Preliminary B1/ CEF (Council of Europe Framework) BEC Vantage B2/ CEF and BEC Higher C1/ CEF BEC is used by hundreds of employers, either as part of their staff development programme or as a qualification that they look for when recruiting staff. Many universities and colleges in English-speaking countries and elsewhere accept BEC Higher as evidence of a sufficient level of English to complete business-related courses in English.
