I've been working at ELITE now for seven weeks. It’s a beautiful place to work, the people are very friendly and we even have a resident parrot who likes exchanging the odd word! The Libyan people are lovely and a pleasure to teach.
I'm growing to love Tripoli: the beautiful and moving call to mosque, the bustle of the city centre, the crazy traffic and of course the beach. |

I really enjoy living and working here. The school is great. Light and spacious, good size classrooms, all with computers and IWBs. The teachers room has friendly staff and lots of various resources! The 'bosses' are friendly and approachable.
Tripoli is a fibulas city, a good mix of old and new (more new being constructed by the day)! Some great times can be had wandering around the old part of town or sitting on the local beaches. The Libyans, students and locals alike, are friendly, welcoming and hospitable. |

I came to Tripoli in November 2008. Some Libyan friends in Britain had told me that Libyan people were kind and helpful, while others suggested I should be more cautious and perhaps wait a couple of years before coming. In fact, I arrived with contradictory information about the country.
The staff at Elite, however, were very welcoming and helped me to settle quickly. The school has a certain charm and likeable eccentricity which make working here very bearable. |

I’ve been in Tripoli for about 2 months now. It’s really nice living a short walk from the Mediterranean sea! The culture here is very rich and there’s a lot to keep me busy. I’m trying to learn Arabic and though it’s hard, it’s interesting.
The students at IH- Elite are really friendly, happy and fun! The classrooms are spacious, the resources plentiful, and the management and staff are encouraging and willing to share experiences and techniques. The school’s setting is beautiful and relaxing – be sure to check out the photos in the gallery. |

It’s strange thinking back to when I told friends and family I’d be going to teach in Libya. The responses varied from “Where’s Libya?” to “Oh dear- is it safe?” Undeterred, I went ahead with my plans, and remain glad that I did so. ELITE has a fantastic reputation in Tripoli, and with good reason. The broad mix of students, ranging from engineers to accountants; doctors to university students, ensures that lessons are constantly buzzing. The staff support and resources are excellent, as is the community atmosphere created by the garden and coffee shop. The dream timetable and seaside accommodation are also pretty big bonuses! |
